A Healthy Diet

The medical community has been telling us for years to eat a healthy, balanced diet. They’re right, of course, Eating a healthy diet is the most important thing you can do for your body, in terms of heath. Eating a healthy diet will add youthful, heathy years to your life. It is also simple and straightforward, but for most in our western culture, it is a goal that is seemingly beyond us, and our normal scope of living.

Our culture is based on a diet that is unhealthy. We were and are raised on it, associate it with comfort and happiness, when in fact, all it leads to is old age, illness and death. It is difficult to break free of cultural tradition and understandings, but if you want to eat a healthy diet, you really must.

There are six basic steps to take to insure your diet is healthy. They’re simple and basic practises. Some are new, some are what doctors have been telling us for years, and all are now common knowledge. But, if you think about your own life, how many of them do you actually follow, and what is the affect of ignoring these good guidelines on your health, your energy, mental clarity and outlook? Are you fully aware, for example, how dramatically, a healthy diet can, and does positively affect your ageing, illnesses and longetivity?

Eating healthily makes a big difference, and is, perhaps, the secret to eternal life and youth, and the prevention of cancer. I believe it is, and if you eat a completely healthy diet, you will be free forever of worries about ageing, illnessess and early death.

The medical community and government as well as the public, have begun to take notice of this current quest for supreme health. This will, I am sure mean great things for our culture, and world. The more they learn, and share, the more western understanding of diet and health will be increased and that can only mean a better, brighter world for us all.

Imagine a world where ageing, illness and death are no longer accepted as inevivable, but are understood as choices ones you can predict, and control. This world is possible with a healthy diet. Its a world that greatly challenges our western ideals of food and eating, but progress and peace, advancement are made of such changes.

If you’re interested in health and want to change your diet, here are the five simple steps to a healthy diet.

1. Go Vegan. A vegan diet will create the biggest changes in your life health wise. You will feel the difference, and free yourself of concerns of heart diesease, stress, and many other illnessess.

2. Eat a no salt, sugar diet. Salt is the unhealthiest food additive you can eat. Sugar is not much better. They are both toxic to the body and cause illnesses, ageing and death. Salt is not neccessary and there are many healthy non sugar sweeteners to use. Even significantly reducing your salt and sugar levels can have a dramatic effect, but for complete health you do need to go salt and sugar free.

3. Limit your intake of allergents foods. Allergent foods are foods that immediately or over time cause negative physical, mental, or emotional responses. They are toxins and will over time rob you of your energy, mental focus, wellness and youth. The most common cause is the bodies immune systems flight or fight response. As we eat foods that cause an allergic reactions the feelings we feel are often just that, a result of our body panic mode or fighting the toxin we just ate. If you feel tired, stressed, angry, hyper, mentally foggy or unwell after eating this is a sign you are allergic to the foods we just ate. These reactions tend to increase as we age our our natural immune strenght is diminished by stress and over exertion. Common allergent food are caffeine, yeast, cocoa, alcohol, garlic, olives, sesame seeds, olive and sesame oils, onions, peppers , hot peppers, fermented foods, vanilla, and spices.

4. Eat lots of good foods. Fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, legumes, and low to no fat plant proteins such as soy. These will provide you will all you need in terms of health and nutrition. Make sure you are eating just these foods when buying packaged and processed foods. Unhealthy additives such as sugar, salt, or yeast can rob these ingredients of their health giving benefits.

5. Make your own food as much as possible and limit the amount of prepackaged and processed foods that you eat. Processed and packaged food is unhealthy generally. it is time consuming but worth it. Some day it will be possible to eat at any restaurant or buy any food, and know for sure it is healthy, but until then, shop carefully and selectively, eat out only ocassionally, and stick to these guidelines when doing so.

6. Don’t overeat and maintain a healthy body weight. While it is alright (and human) to occasionally overindulge, daily overeating will only lead to physical ruin, obesity, and overweight. This will dramatically reduce your energy levels, and can negatively affect your mental, and emotional outlook. A main cause of overeating, is the eating of unhealthy food. This leads to a vicious cycle of eating to increase energy, and happiness, and eating foods that only diminsih those qualities you seek. It also is often a case of the body’s panic response. We eat foods we are allergic to and our subconscious reaction is to get rid of that food, so we overeat to rid ourselves of it. Whatever the case, overeating is very determental to our health, and a healthy plant based diet will insure you feel full, satisfied, and not have to binge to produce a natural high, and positive outlook.
