Poverty really is the saddest and most unjust thing in human life. Especially when it affects seniors, the disabled, single moms, the working poor and refugees. Its just heartbreaking and I wonder how the mega rich can sleep at night. Where is their compassion? Where is the government and voter compassion?
We could end all poverty, global and local, overnight. It should be hard to understand why we don’t but it isn’t. It’s simple. Its all come down to hate in its many forms. Racism, misogeny, envy, hate of the poor and disabled and just bully hate, hate from those who love to hate. As well, capitalism and its constant selfish wants and demands.
If we don’t end poverty and soon, 2021 years after Jesus said it was wrong, then I guess we truly are the worst species in the universe, a species who can but refuses to end human suffering, misery and to take care of all our fellow humans.
