Why our World is Failing

With the high economic costs of the covonavirus and legitimate fears that the bill for it is going to be passed down as usual to the poorest in society, there is alot of concern about what will follow the lockdown economically.

We are all well conditioned in the understanding of debt and budgeting. In our personal lives, these rules make sense. In a larger sense, the national sense, they really don’t. Today, as many in our world will likely suffer and die due to the Covid19 economic fallout, this is a good time to think about our world system and its crushing adherence to the austere, debt based economic system.

The idea of nations not being able to afford things is a human made concept & one that favors keeping the poor and poor nations down & from questioning poverty. Its another way the modern (1800-today) white, elitist world system has held onto power by not letting other nations rise up. It’s also how they keep the people powerless. Austerity is its extreme face but the entire system is all built to keep royalty, aristocracy, imperial rulers and the elite in power. If your of the .00001% you need a very magical and elaborate system to maintain your hold. Today’s economic system is exactly that. It’s all just smoke and mirrors.

The great’s of the world who oppose it usually fit into this system, being mainly white, male and privately educated. The meritocracy has changed this a bit, but not much as many followed the elitist path and adopted neoliberalism. Those who fight or preach against it like Jesus the person and thousands of others activists, and saints were and are crucified, murdered or kept in such poverty & ostracation from the world that they have been rendered voiceless, powerless, imperiled and anonymous. This is not necessary to maintain wealth, but it is necessary to maintain injustice and poverty. To the elite this amounts to the same thing as unjust power never sits easily upon the mind and soul.

What we see and read of the world today is true and real. Our feelings of unease, stress, panic are real. This is because we need radical, positive change to survive and our world system is woefully unable to do so. It is an evil, unjust, ridiculous disaster. It has caused the needless death, suffering and destruction of billions of humans, animals and life. It upholds poverty as its lifeline to status, power and well being. Its upholds injustice because its power and position is unjust.

No one wants to topple any heads or ban wealth, but we all do or should want a change, a new world system. Many rich give alot and help make the world a better, fairer, more beautiful place. We who want peaceful change are not asking to remove those at the top from their wealth or position. All we want to do is fill in the basement and move everyone to the ground or higher floors so all can have light and life and to keep the money and power amongst all people as that’s what creates peaceful, proserous life, and because we now know what goes up, stays up in a neo liberal, libertine conservative world.

We need to seriously take to task those politicians and media figures who uphold this unjust system and who shame and deny those who support and ask for peaceful, economic justice, a global universal basic income, a fair minimum wage, fair taxes, a sustainable, clean, green, vegan job based economy, and for a safety net that includes all. They are who are to blame, leading the public astray, stoking hate, racism and ignorance to implement their austerity, blame and hate the poor economic policies.

Some blame the rich but that’s communism and not really right or helpful. There are those who are rich and who exploit, support and fight politically opposition for the system but the rich really aren’t the problem. It’s like the Titanic. There are unjust systems in play we must and can fix, but our doom is in the hands of those navigating the ship. Being felled by an iceburg is one thing. Being felled by leadership, a status quo led by politicians, media, culture, unable to adjust to a new world’s need is another.

The old world system is all based on elitism, superiority, supremacy and keeping the people and “others” down. It has politicized economics and thereby created great divides in our society. It has created a seemingly impenetrable stainless steel tower to rule from and to incase its ideologies and dogma within. Its easy to look down on the poor from this steel clad tower of injustice and feel superior when they’re no foothold for anyone outside it to raise themselves. It is easy to explain desperation as moral failing and the sin and immorality of austerity as just protectionism. Its easy also in this tower to not see and ignore the looming iceburgs; the pandemics, economic recession, rising poverty, and climate crisis that those outside it can see. This is our world and every injustice within it all is due to this system. It needs to end and we the people need to end it and replace it with a better, smarter, fair, just and more humane one.
