The Ontario government recently tabled a bill that will cut family doctor’s salaries. This is obviously a move that will please his ignorant populus driven support base, but it’s not in Ontario’s or it’s middle classes best interests. It also threatens our publicly funded healthcare system, as it may drive doctors elsewhere, or into private practise creating two tiers of healthcare.
I believe, as proven by the benefits of western affluence and prosperity, wages for government paid professionals (doctors, lawyers, politicians, civil servants) should stay the same in fitting with the gravity, responsibility & demands of their work, and the degree of skill, education and stress involved. The professional one percenter wages are also fine, as long as taxes are fair, as they are privately earned. Teachers, cops, social workers, nurses and medical professional, non profit agency workers, first responders, and all middle class professions should be equally well paid and taxes kept low.
Everyone else’s wages should also increase, to $15.00 for minimum wage earners, and to fair, good wages with low, fair taxes to everyone up to the 60k earner. Welfare and disabilty payments should be at least double to what they are now, at $1200 for welfare, $1800 for the disabled and seniors. A basic income for all of $1200 a month is also a good and necessary idea for growing a populus as opposed to resource based economy. That’s necessary now that natural resources are increasingly scarce and conservstion increasingly mandatory.
This is how to grow an economy. Business will have money coming in from people having more money, and our economy will flourish from additional taxes, innovation and commerce and reduced healthcare, crime and social ill costs. This is how the new age of golden western culture will be created, how we can recreate the booming economy of the 1940-1990s, all golden ages of the past. Western, first world economy is built upon the promise of prosperity for all, not an economy built of the third world austerity, elitism and class resentment, of pure libertine capitalism and class hate communism.
There are other factors in creating a booming economy. Immigration, trade, working in a global economy, industry and business taxes and government support, IMF rules and policies, and lastly, changes in consumer spending, trends and habits, in nature, and demand. Knowing which trends are real, good, and growing, and which are populus driven and destructive matters and must be understood. Understanding these and their progress is a part of the larger picture, but having a non austere, thriving consumer based society is something we can do now, need to do now, and is something that will have both short and long terms gains and rewards.
This is modern working socialism, today’s first world economy. Cutting wages, salaries, starving the masses is communism, and third world economy. Modern socialism is how to create a proseporous economy and productive, happy workforce and thriving consumer class.
We need people who understand this in charge, the status quo to be created by people who understand and can do this, and to say goodbye to the populus, low class, keyboard economic experts who haven’t the understanding, experience, ability to run any world except a third world, bankrupt one. Our economy can and will linger in recession and fall to everyone’s loss if we don’t.
We can and must get back to what the west does best, creating a proserous and fair thriving economy, one that benefits all its citizens and creates real unity and peace as well. I’m hoping Canada and the world comes to understand this and soon, as economic ignorance and the class understanding, pride and resentments behind it, remain rampant, and continue to thrive, rule and destruct, delay and decline all we have and need and need to do.
